What are the main headlines of this book
You’ve heard of people who talk too much, but you’ve never heard people complain about someone who listens too much. The art of rich conversation comes down to asking good questions, not filling the silence and listening intently.
‘Power Questions’ is a stunning gem of a book all on the art of asking questions. The authors tell real life stories of various situations from business to personal and show the reader how to ask good power questions.
There are questions, and then there are questions. The quality of your questions can often be life-changing if done properly.
The examples used in this book are so varied and there is something for everyone. I will be highly recommending this on my reading list for family and friends.
Key Highlights Of This Book
No One Ever Complains About Someone Who Listens Too Much
The art of sitting back, pausing and listening is something that everyone can draw from. Often in a conversation, we want to fill the silence. However silence is a powerful tool to draw out more from a person. People who listen more than they speak are often considered wise. Practice the art of silence (and sitting in uncomfortable silence at that!)
Never Underestimate The Power Of A Good Question
The book talks about the power contained within questions. They have power to change lives, businesses and governments. The examples used in this book cover all 3 (and more). Questions are actually a device that brings power into a situation and empowers people.
Questions Bring Clarity
If you’ve read/watched my content for any length of time, you’ll know my mantra – ‘Clarity is King, Simplicity is Queen. If you’re groping about in the darkness trying to find an answer or are too vague on the details, then use a power question. Power questions will shine a light in the darkness. The right question will help you to clarify and refocus.
You Might Not Know That Person As Well As You Think
The book gives examples of the authors sitting down with friends whom they thought they knew quite well. However, by asking a simple power question, things opened up and they discovered a whole new side to this person. This one question actually opened up a massive opportunity that wouldn’t have happened, had it not been for a good power question.

There you have it – the Power Questions book review. I have purposefully not given too many highlights because I don’t want you to miss out on this awesome book. The storytelling device really works well. The chapters are short and engaging. The lessons contained in each chapter are life lessons in themselves.
